Digital Preservation Service for Cultural Heritage
The Digital Preservation Service (DPS) for Cultural heritage, aimed for libraries, archives, and museums, ensures the digital preservation of key national digital repositories. Digital cultural heritage materials encompass both digitized and digitally produced content:
- Digital cultural materials subject to legal preservation requirements.
- Digital documentary materials belonging to the national cultural heritage.
- Other digital repositories falling within the scope of digital preservation within organizations responsible for preserving material and intellectual cultural heritage under the Ministry of Education and Culture.
The Ministry of Education and Culture grants organizations the right to use the DPS upon application and makes decisions regarding the preservation of content. This defines the content for which usage rights are granted and the capacity allocated from the DPS.
Statistics about the usage of the DPS as well as a list of all partner organizations utilizing the service are reported in the annual Quality Reports of the DPS.
DPS Support
The Digital Preservation Services support the user during the entire preparation, packaging and submission process, as well as with all questions related to the usage of the services. Requests for support can be sent to pas-support@csc.fi.
